Boutique Profile: Pretty in Pink
Background Behind Costa Mesa's New Boutique
I arrived at the boutique Pretty in Pink for the first time thinking I had a good idea of what I was about to see. After all, I follow them on twitter and am a fan on facebook. But when I walked through the doors of the new Costa Mesa boutique I instantly knew the atmosphere was a perfect match for the clothing. The colors on the brightly painted walls were an instant giveaway to the welcoming, relaxed vibe of the store. It was perfect. A little rock and roll, a bit of girlie... actually a bit for everyone. Even better, owners Holly Valdez and Danielle Smith couldn’t be nicer.
As I browsed through the racks I got even more excited. The pieces were unique, very stylish and affordable: the perfect trifecta. Also a bonus, Holly and Danielle pick merchandise that caters to everyone. Whether it’s a necklace by Plastic Hardware or a tee by Chaser, there is mostly likely something for every type of lady.
When Holly and Danielle met they were both working retail, but longed to venture out and own a store of their own. With a business plan and strong will, they put all of their efforts into Pretty in Pink Boutique. As Danielle puts it, the store vision came together naturally and is now an exact replica of the inspiration board where the two first started with. Holly emphasized that they yearned to create a place that was warm and creative and unique from other shops in Orange County. The creativity is not only apparent with the aesthetic appeal of the store, but also with the art on the walls. They display pieces from local artists and shift the work every month or so.
The boutique started with a soft opening at the end of November and a grand opening in the beginning of December. For a new addition to the world of Orange County shopping, Pretty in Pink Boutique has definitely made a mark. They can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Blogspot and their own personal webpage. Needless to say, they are very connected. They also offer plenty of excuses for shopping by coordinating good times while perusing the store. Most recently they planned “Ladies‘ Night” complete with a makeup artist, manicurist, hairstylist, DJ and prizes. And the week before that, the boutique received a visit from the Kogi BBQ taco truck for a fun-filled Friday night of tacos and shopping.
Next time you’re looking for something sweet and edgy stop by Pretty in Pink Boutique, I promise you’ll be pleased. And make sure to connect with them to hear about the next fun event they’ll be hosting.
