Artists flock to Old Town Tustin on Saturday
TUSTIN – Plein air painters and Old Town photographers will be submitting their works in hopes of winning during the Old Town Tustin Art Walk on Saturday Oct 23rd.
The third annual art walk is free to attend, and features a wine tasting, live music, a plethora of art, contests and a bus tour of Old Town Tustin. Painters will be awarded a total of $2,000 if they win in the plein air contest, in which the artists create their works outdoors days ahead of the contest judging.
The wine tasting, which costs $20, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. in the Jamestown Center, 520 El Camino Real. The first 100 people will receive an Old Town Art Walk wine glass. More than 70 wineries are featured and proceeds benefit the Tustin Preservation Conservancy.
This year, the Tustin High School Visual Art Department is also getting involved, and will be holding a one-day gallery called "Blink" at Prospect Village, Prospect Avenue and Main Street, on Saturday.
All nine art programs at Tustin High are participating in the showcase and the Art Honor Society will be the curators. Coastline ROP and Prospect Village of Tustin donated display panels and supplies, and the retail space for the indoor gallery.
Mrs. B's Consignments is holding its annual fall parking lot sale during the art walk. The sale features vintage furniture, home décor and collectables, organizers said.
