Best time to buy holiday flights?

I know school just started, but it's time to start thinking about the holidays, if you want to score the best travel deals out there.

The airlines are still running lean and mean, so you are unlikely to find any last-minute deals.

And, reminder, if you can fly on the actual holiday itself, you can save big.
