Surf trip down south to San Diego

A call came in from a surfer I hadn't heard from in a long time, Billy Hopkins. "What's up Salanoa? You shooting tomorrow?", I replied, "Yeah looking to head down to Laguna or Lowers I think, if the suns out.", with a quick response came out from Billy, "Do you want to shoot Blacks with me, Keala Naihe, Jake Halstead and Spencer Mauro?", "Yeah pick me up!"

Off to La Jolla we went at about 6:00 a.m., hitting the line up around 8:30 a.m. with what seemed like most of San Diego County also in the line up. Jake Halstead from La Jolla was in the water already with Keala Naihe of Hawaii and Spencer Mauro of Huntington Beach. Hopkins stoked on the 4-to 5-foot waves with lots of sections in the peaky break for air shows to spring up.

We killed it for just over a two hour strike mission and back in the car for the trip back to Huntington Beach. What will tomorrow hold? We'll see when the phone rings.
