Traffic delays expected at LAX today

THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

Traffic is expected to be tied up at LAX today because of a May Day demonstration and march planned by union workers and community activists protesting working conditions at the airport.

Century Boulevard between Airport Boulevard and the LAX central terminal area will be closed from noon to 4 p.m. Motorists are advised to add 45 minutes to their travel time and to use Sepulveda Boulevard to get to the terminals.

The demonstration will begin in front of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at noon.  While flights should not be impacted, as many as 1,200 union members are expected to participate in the demonstration which will add to the usual congestion in the terminals.
