Back Door started to show signs of the incoming swell. It wasn't until late in the afternoon 3 p.m. Hawaiian time did any real ridable waves start to roll in. A few pros in the line up but mostly local surfers getting a surf in before dark.

North Shore Winter: Haleiwa Reef Hawaiian Pro - day nine of the waiting period

Thanksgiving Eve on the North Shore was a slow one as there was no swell in the ocean until signs of a Thanksgiving Day swell started to show late in the day. The Reef Hawaiian Pro was on its fourth lay day in a row. Most of the Orange County crews were nowhere to be found on Wednesday, as from what I heard a lot of them headed into town to pick love ones up from the airport as they flow in for turkey day.

Thursday, Nov. 22 will be a holiday no run for the Vans Triple Crown, but there will be a swell in the water in the 4- to 5-foot range. Happy Thanksgiving Orange County from the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii!
