Are these are the Dog Days of Summer still?
As I shot all week with this very nice SSW swell in the water for the past four days, I started thinking about old movies I used to watch and surf magazines I would read about the, 'Dog Days of Summer'. I used to wish I lived back then when those guys got to be apart of something so special. I loved everything about those old stories when the boys all got together and headed out for an epic surf, one of the last summer surfs of the year with the sun hot in the sky. Hot, lazy days when the slight ocean breeze was the only relief from the heat, unless you where out there in the line up laughing with all the boys talking story. It was then as I looked through the lens that I realized that I am as we speak in the middle of our 'Dog Days of Summer'. Even the red tent in the sky I've been noticing in my shots have been telling me it's the Dog Days! These photos are shots from Uppers Trestles the way I have been seeing it!
