Guest Blog: Heather Dubrow invites you to Prove her Wrong

Yes, ok, I said that.  A regrettable comment for sure.  Didn't mean to hurt anyone in the industry.  The truth is, if you haven't watched RHOC yet this season, I can be ... well.... picky.  I moved from NY to LA and then down to the OC.  That's when I felt like my culinary experiences came to a grinding halt.  That's not to say there aren't some places I love in OC  (i.e. Sabatino's, Mastro's , Bluefin Sushi to name a few). The problem is, I find myself going to those same places over and over because I can't find anywhere else to go.
So... Instead of lambasting me about the comment I made on the show, dear readers, I challenge you to PROVE ME WRONG! With YOUR help,  I intend to seek out and review local restaurants in an attempt to find the little gems that we have here that I have not been introduced to. SHOW ME. Then, I will eat CROW... or pigs feet, tripe, sweetbreads or whatever it is that the restaurant specializes in. (Haha!) Here is my one request... No CHAIN RESTAURANTS. Yes, there are some very good ones, but I want to go somewhere that you can only find in the OC.  Sabatino's is a good example of that... A one of a kind restaurant with the BEST sausage I've ever had.
So, send me your suggestions... Where should I eat and why? You can even send me menu selections if you wish. Tweet to me @heatherdubrow, visit my website HeatherDubrow.com, contact me on facebook, or contact my friends at info@orangecounty.com.  Whoever writes in with the restaurant that I choose to dine at, will receive a $50 gift certificate to that establishment. In case of multiple winning submissions, we will pull the name from a hat... a chef's hat of course! FYI: The restaurant will not know when I am coming, so we can keep it real. I will review the cuisine, service, ambience and everything and anything else. No holds barred. So keep your eyes peeled open for me .... I will be dining out and waiting for you all to PROVE ME WRONG...
In order to kick off our adventure, the generous people at orangecounty.com treated us to dinner at A's restaurant in Newport Beach. A single location found only in Orange County. I decided to invite Tamra and Eddie to celebrate the official announcement of their Engagement. What a night...
We met lovely people (including one of the owners) and had an excellent time.  A's restaurant has a very cool "rat pack" vibe and the service was exceptional.  Their starters are great to share.  I loved my Hearts of Palm salad and they didn't even BLINK when I asked for my dressing on the side. The wine list is extensive. We had a beautiful Far Niente Cabernet. Perfect compliment to our meal. Thank you A's!

"There are no good restaurants in Orange County, that's why we are opening a restaurant"...
