The Newport team beat out other OC high schools during Red Bull contest

Newport Harbor High School took home the win at yesterday's Red Bull Riders Cup finals in Huntington Beach, beating out other schools along Orange County beaches.
They were in the final against Huntington Beach High School, a very close competition, said Diane Edmonds of Eppicsurf.com, who was out shooting the event.
Conditions were a bit better than the first days of the event (so bad Tuesday got cancelled), but it was still challenging and inconsistent for the surfers on Thursday. Check out a slideshow from Wednesday's heats. The team now moves on to the finals on June 6 -7 at Upper Trestles.
