THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

It was a sea of pink shirts in the waters off Newport Beach on Saturday morning as 414 people took part in a stand-up paddleboard lesson that broke a Guinness World Record.

Proceeds from the event, the 2012 Standup for the Cure, will go to the Orange County affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a group that supports breast-cancer research. Every $125 raised funds a mammogram, according to a release from the event organizers.
