Free food for 100 at new Chick-fil-A

Orange County’s 13th Chick-fil-A on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa will open Thursday, April 26.

As is tradition with all Chick-fil-A openings, the restaurant will award a one-year supply of free meals (52 certificates) to each of the first 100 adults in line. The line officially opens at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 25. The free meal cards will be awarded Thursday, April 26, about 6 a.m.  The restaurant will open shortly after that.

The restaurant, at 3181 Harbor Blvd., is the 49th Chick-fil-A to open in California. The Atlanta-based chicken chain has West Coast offices in Orange County. The next local restaurant will open at Fashion Island in Newport Beach in June, the company said.

In 2012, Chick-fil-A plans to open 96 locations across the country. In 2011, the chain generated annual sales of more than $4 billion, a 13 percent increase over 2010.
