Fringe is not gone, it's just taken on a new look
Fringe… you thought hit its peak last year, and then you saw it through summer, and was surprised again, when winter came around and fringe was still in. Well fringe is here and it's not going anywhere it's just transforming. While fringed shoes, and accessories for that matter, are still a stylish statement, the kiltie is the fresh and new thing. A kiltie is "A shoe having a fringed tongue that flaps over the instep." (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/kiltie) it's a cleaner classic look that's a refreshing change to the Native American style fringe that's been all over the streets already.
The great thing about the kiltie is that the trend is both vintage and modern. If you can find a vintage pair of kilties that fit your foot your styling but if not there are so many new options out there. Sticking with the Navajo Indian look there is the Minnetonka Moccasin that blends both styles of fringes and is a great transitional trend piece. The next closest thing to a pair of vintage kilties, are the modern replicas. You can find a good pair at Urban Outfitters called, We Who See Fringe Boot. My favorite new kiltie shoe out is Alexander Wang's version, whether it be the Lara Combat boot or one of his flat models I think he's right on trend. They might be a too fashion forward for many, or a bit too pricey for others but these are defiantly the shoes that capture the trend and push it forward in the right direction…
