Jesse Guglielmana wins Ghetto Juice Air Show presented by Sanuk
Hawaiian surfer Jesse Guglielmana won the second annual Ghetto Juice Air Show Sunday in Newport Beach. Against a very wide field of fly boys including last years winner Mason Ho, of Hawaii. Other air specialist were: Nathan Fletcher, Albee Layer, Daniel Shea, Ryan Croteau, Ryan Carlson, Matt Meola and many more.
The morning started with the first round hitting the water at 8 a.m. with 30 surfers flying out airs in five stacked heats. Quarter-finals cut the field down to 15. After the NHHS ran a few heats so the boys could power down some water and fuel back up, the Ghetto Juice Airshow finals hit the water with the top six of this year's show: Bobby Okvist, Ryan Croteau, Daniel Shea, Albee Layer, Jesse Guiglimana, and Blake Davis.
Jesse Guiglimana had a slow start but really turned it on in the last 10 minutes of the heat and locked down the win with a long right and a high-flying front side air that took him 6-to 8 feet off the deck and won him $1,200 dollars by Sanuk. Newport's own Bobby Okvist took home a handfull of cash for the second place spot.
