Review: Jane's Addiction, Santigold rousingly kick off Doheny Days
Summer has just about reached its official conclusion, which means most of the season’s top-tier multi-day music festivals have come and gone. Save for one more, that is, right here in Orange County.
That’s Doheny Days, Dana Point’s weekend shindig of contemporary music, back for its second consecutive showing after six years away and played out just a quick drive down Pacific Coast Highway to the gorgeous shores and pristine waters of Doheny State Beach.
It’s an uncommon occurrence: A trip to the beach for locals may be a regular event, but here it’s paired with perfect weather and internationally renowned American acts. Saturday delivered Jane’s Addiction, Santigold, Jimmy Eat World and Delta Spirit, while Sunday brings (in order of appearance) Milo Greene, Steel Pulse (the sole import), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Oklahoma’s always awe-inspiring Flaming Lips.
