KOBE BRYANT did what he wanted offensively in scoring 38 points, many with people like Arron Afflalo guarding him closely. He also ran downcourt and blocked a breakaway by Al Harrington, leading to a basket that held the Nuggets at bay. Bryant went 15 for 29 in the game but was one for seven in the fourth quarter. Bryant has been to the foul line 18 times in the two games and looks fresh.

Lakers 2, Denver 0: What's next?

The Lakers led Denver by 19 points in the third quarter of Game 2 Tuesday night but had to play into the final half-minute to nail down the 4-point victory. That gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the first round series but also helped Denver take some hope back to the Mile High City for Game 3.

The Nuggets were able to run and rebound against the Lakers, and forced Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum to play exceptionally.

The Lakers were properly humbled by the way the Nuggets came down the stretch. That's probably a good omen for the rest of the series.
