X Games Day 1 Highlights and Live X Cast

The 15th annual Winter X Games kicked off earlier today at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado with the Men’s Ski Slopestyle Elimination.

Throughout the upcoming weekend, the games will showcase snow athletes’ talents and skills in their respective realms, including ski, snowboard, and snowmobile. The finals for each event will be held on Sunday.

At the main entrance of Buttermilk Mountain, spectators will have the opportunity to attend X Fest, a congregation of Winter X Games Sponsor Booths and action sports companies. The booths will provide everything from product demos and samplings, to giveaways and athlete autograph signings.

The Games is also offering aspiring Winter X competitors a chance to test out the pro street course at set times throughout the course of the weekend.

A major factor contributing to the culture of this year’s Games is the recent loss of six-time Winter X Games gold medalist, Sarah Burke. Along with an on-site tribute to the late ski champion, the event is holding a live tribute during the 9 p.m. ET broadcast.

You can also watch all the events live via X Cast below or on the espn site
