The annual Watermans Paddle For Humanity went down at Doheny State Beach on Saturday, drawing Stand Up Paddle enthusiasts to compete at the fundraising event.
The event started in 2009 as a way to bring the paddling community together. Since that time the race has grown to become the largest national paddling series and has raised thousands of dollars for its non- profit partners. For 2012, the Paddle for Humanity is expanding to five events, and after Dana Point paddlers go to Deerfield Beach FL, Washington DC , Lake Tahoe CA and Austin Texas.
For 2012, organizers hope to raise $100,000 for charity partners through the Paddle for Humanity events.
