Can we please talk about Phoebe Philo

Can we please talk about Phoebe Philo!  Who is she you ask?  Hmmm…..  Phoebe was Stella McCartney’s design assistant for Chloe from 1997-2001.  In 2001 Stella started her own line and Phoebe took over as creative director for Chloe.   She has a natural talent of keeping with the pulse of society and pushing it ahead at the same time.  From 2001 to early 2006 Phoebe Philo helped reconnect Chloe to pop-culture re-inventing it into a cool hip brand worshiped by stylish youth.  Since leaving Chloe in 2006 Phoebe has out of the fashion scene, deciding to spend more time with her family then with her work.   But now she’s back at it and making an old brand cool all over again.  If you take a look at Celine’s SS 10 fashion show you’ll probably like a whole lot of it… and that’s thanks to Phoebe Philo.  Appointed creative director of Celine in October of 2008 Phoebe has been busy reinventing the brand without loosing it’s roots.   The whole fashion world has been paying close attention and fashion icons, like Anna Wintour, are making positive comments about the Celine runway show when I’m not sure they even went before.  I got so inspired by Celine that I put together some collages of the runway show with some old Orange County pics I took.  See how good Celine looks with the back drop of Costa Mesa.
