"June Bloom" Perennial Plant Sale, Selections Still Available
At Fullerton Arboretum's Potting Shed
If you missed out on the recent “June Bloom” Perennial Plant Sale, don’t feel gloom. There are still plenty of shrubs, succulents, and summer perennials to choose from at the Fullerton Arboretum’s Potting Shed. While perhaps some of the more specialty plants went quickly at the sale, stand-outs such as the ‘Cherry Lemonade’ Coreopsis, Penstemon ‘Firebird’, and ‘Hot Lips’ Sage are still available along with hundreds of other blooming plants propagated at the Arboretum.

The Potting Shed carries unique plants and garden items not always found at other retail nurseries. The store is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Mon. and Tue., as well as 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sat. and Sun. It is situated on the front left corner of the Arboretum’s grounds and carries a plant selection that focuses mostly on Mediterranean and California native ground covers, vines, bulbs, herbs, succulents, cactuses, salvias, and other seasonal, drought tolerant, hummingbird and butterfly plants.
The next specialty sale is the Summer Clearance Sale in which all plants are 50 percent off at the Potting Shed during the weekends of July 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and 30-31 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This sale allows the store to clear out their stock before closing during August and reopening on September 10, just in time for the Salvia Spectacular Plant Sale. The average price for larger, more established plants is $6.75 with smaller plants costing an average of $2.75.
