Heart, Rush headed into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Some formidable names – including two pioneering women of hard rock, one of the greatest drummers to ever sit at a kit and the Oscar winner who gave the world "I Love L.A." – are about to get a long-overdue honor.
Enduringly popular bands Heart (featuring Ann and Nancy Wilson) and Rush (the longest-running trio this side of ZZ Top, anchored by Neil Peart) are among the six legendary acts who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame come April 18 at Nokia Theatre.
Also to be celebrated at the 28th ceremony are singer-songwriter Randy Newman, blues guitar great Albert King, incendiary rap group Public Enemy and the late disco maven Donna Summer.
