Round two of Supercross at Anaheim Stadium

Monster Energy Supercross returned to Anaheim Stadium on Saturday night for its second stop in Orange County. Although the stadium was not packed, the fans were not disappointed as they were entertained by some of the best main event races of this early season.

In the 450SX main event, defending Supercross champion Ryan Villopoto hit the first turn in sixth place but managed to pick off the leaders and he passed Trey Canard on the fifth lap to take the lead. This was Villopoto's first victory of the young season after finishing in 16th place two weeks ago in Anaheim and in second last week in Phoenix. Villopoto's win moves him to fourth place overall in the point standings. Trey Canard finished the 450SX in second place and Chad Reed finished in third after Davi Millsaps slid out on a slippery mid-field turn. Millsaps recovered and finished in fourth which was good enough for him to maintain the overall 450SX points lead.

The 250SX main event podium looked like a carbon copy of the first round of Supercross with Eli Tomac finishing in first followed by Ken Roczen and Cole Seely. This was Tomac's third straight first place finish in 2013.

Monster Energy returns to Anaheim Stadium for its final OC stop on February 2, 2013.
