OC Style: RVCA's Lookbook

Words by Tosh Tosh / orangecounty.com

Rvca has been making waves lately, not only with their notorious collaborations but also with a new flagship store in Los Angeles.  The Costa Mesa based brand is turning 10 and they have much to celebrate.  Started as a streetwear brand that gives focus not only to fashion but also art, music and modern lifestyle, Rvca has done well sticking to it's roots.  Founder PM Tenore wanted to break the mold of typical street and action sport apparel and after 10 years on the market we can say Rvca does just that.

The collaboration with model/designer Erin Wasson made waves in the high fashion world and even broke into several high fashion boutiques.  The style, still strong to its active roots, pushes the expectations of what active wear should look like.  Even in art Rvca sets some standards, recently with an exhibit Mindthegap, at the Prism gallery in LA.  Featuring artist Philip Frost and Barry McGee the show helps set the mood for creativity whether it be in art, fashion or music.  Another recent collab that has gotten a lot of attention is the collaboration with professional skater Leo Romero.  Leo helped design and test his own signature collection for Rvca.  Slim fitting pants with a bit of stretch and quality durable denim that will last through scrapes and falls.  They even have a signutare line of clothes for the MMA fighter BJ Penn. Rcva sees their creative possibilities as endless, and with the direction they are going now, there are sure to be a lot more great things coming out from them. The model in the pictures is Rumi Neely, who lives in Orange County.  You can follow here blog fashiontoast.com
