Free Sam's Club shopping service

Free Sam's Club shopping service

THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

Have you ever envied those personal shoppers at fancy stores who do the work for you?

Did you know that Wal-Mart's warehouse club, Sam's Club,  will also do the shopping for you?  For free.

I just love free stuff, don't you?  Especially when it saves me time.

Their "Click 'n' Pull" service is free to all members.

All you have to do is go online and order the products you want from the "Click 'n' Pull" menu.

They'll be ready for you to buy and pick up the next day at the Member Services desk of your local store.

They'll even pull fresh grocery and freezer items for you. You specify the day and time you want to pick them up.

Seriously, think of how much time you'll save pounding the pavement of your local megastore.  And how many purchases you'll avoid by not marching around the store. Though you won't get as much exercise hauling that mammoth cart around.

There's an online tutorial that will teach you how to use this service, which is not hard to figure out.

I recently tried this out, and, I must say, it was very quick and painless to have them do all the work for me. It would have been especially great last year when my foot was broken and it was hard to get around and shop in a large store.

It took maybe five extra minutes of waiting while they went and pulled my perishables out of the refrigerator and freezer case, otherwise I would have been out of there in only a couple of minutes. Pretty amazing, really.

You need to have a Sam's Club membership card and sign up for an online account in order to use"Click 'n' Pull".   A regular membership costs $40 a year for two people, with other types also available.

To make it even easier to use "Click 'N' Pull", you can also create an online shopping list of items you buy regularly and then just put them into your shopping cart with one click.

I belong to both Costco and Sam's Club, and I went online to see if Costco had anything similar, but I didn't find it.

Though Costco will deliver to your business if you have a business account, for free if you spend $250 or more. Otherwise delivery costs $20.
