The robust sound of pipe bands wafted throughout the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa on Saturday. The two-day 2012 ScotsFest featured Scottish and Celtic music of all sorts, Highland dancing, and Scottish athletics.
For Lisa Reutzel, of Rancho Santa Margarita, the visit included a stop at the Scottish Clan and Tartan Information booth. Her Scottish heritage from her great-grandmother's side includes Stewart and Montgomery family lineage, and Reutzel was on the hunt for more information.
"I learned the Montgomerys were from the south and the Stewarts were from the north. And they didn't get along," Reutzel said, "but they do get along in our family."
