Get into Splash Buccaneer Bay water park today for only $4.05
Now this is a deal you really cannot refuse, if you would like to get wet and cool off today.
The Splash Buccaneer Bay water park in La Mirada is offering you the chance to get into their water park this afternoon for only $4.05, in honor of the 405 closing. (You've heard of that, right?)
This is compared to the normal price of $13.95 for their special Friday night events, when the park stays open until 8 p.m.
This is only good today, Friday July 15, 2011.
I would get there and line up early because I'm sure there will be a mob.
Splash is smaller than Soak City or Wild Rivers, it only has a couple of water slides, and it gets really crowded, though I don't know about the Friday night events they are holding every Friday (though not for $4.05 usually!)
On the plus side, it still has plenty of wet fun, it's cheaper, parking is free and it has the added advantage of being very close, within blocks, of the $2 movie theater that also has $1 hot dogs.
Note there are two parts to this aquatic complex owned by the city and adjacent to City Hall: There's a large municipal pool with lanes marked off for swimming that has a separate, lower fee, and then there's the Buccaneer Bay water park, which requires a separate admission (I believe you can use the lap pool once you pay for Buccaneer Bay, but not vice versa.)
We recently used our Wild Rivers season passes to go to Splash (we got four free admissions to Splash for each season ticket on the deal we bought) and then went to see Soul Surfer at the cheap Starplex cinema for only $2, plus bought $1 hot dogs while we were there. Total cost for a day of fun for three: $9.
Not bad, right?
And note that they have cheaper birthday parties here too than the big parks

And, note that if you buy a Splash Buccaneer Bay season pass for $64 per person, you also get two admissions to Wild Rivers, which is the cost of a regular general admission ticket anyway to Wild Rivers. Plus you can go to Splash all season long with its free parking.
If you live closer to La Mirada, or you have little kids who don't go on the huge slides anyway, you might like this deal.
If not, then a season pass to Wild Rivers is a better deal, and you can get into Splash four times, plus a few other small water parks as well, though you have to pay $10 to park every time you go to Wild Rivers.
And thanks to bargain hunter Verdelle Reynolds for tipping me off to this deal.
