OC Style: Tavik Swimwear Runway Show

On page 163 of November Elle, right in between Jimmy Choo and Commes des Garcons, is Tavik.  The Page is "Elle Fashion News" and hits up hot designers, places and shops.  Sportswear has made a very large impact on fashion in the last 5 years, with not only technical fabrics making there way into design, but also the overall aesthetic.  With a huge Volcom ad also in the November Elle, it's evident that high fashion and sportswear are starting to cross lines.  So it's no surprise that during LA fashion week, Tavik, took part in the LA Fashion Weekend at Sunset Gower Studios. 

The event, organized by Mikey Koffman from The Gallery LA, took place Saturday night with an after party flowing into early Sunday morning.  Tavik Swimwear opened the show with bright colors, geometric shapes and a go-get-em attitude.  The models, styled with sunglasses and headbands, worked the sexy/sweet designs as if they were on the runways in Paris of Milan.  Cute little bows and soft bikini ties worked as feminine accents while cut outs and semi sheers accentuated sensuality.  The designs were creative and fresh making a clear statement that Tavik is a brand of its own.
