To kick things off this morning five riders pulled out of riding today and were eliminated from the Rip Full Pull… Casey Currie, Norm Turnberg, Brian Beaman, Bobby Pecoy and Josh Wellington all decided not to ride today as they are suffering from severe food poisoning. It seems a few riders ate at a IIanteria taco shop at KM 61 near the entrance to San Nicolas yesterday and are suffering from it today. 10AM Update: Riders have made it to Agua Verde and are taking a well deserved swim break just north of Punta Pasquel. More riders are suffering from food poisoning, Bob Walker called it quits for the day while Turbo Tom Geviss and Manny Ornelas are also suffering but decided to push on and continue riding. The Rip brothers will now head Southwest toward Constitucion and south through Santa Rita and Puta Conejo. Riders are rehydrating and refueling before heading south toward La Paz. Rip brother Pat Dailey is calling it a day and putting his bike on the trailer after a tough morning. Dailey told us, "I had a meltdown." He was dehydrated once again and had to get an IV to get him before he could push on to the lunch break at Santa Rita. The swealtering humid weather conditions are putting a crimp on the riders, Dailey will ride in the Raptor for the remaining second half of todays ride. Mathis Riiber is hurting and wants to call it quits but he’s going to push on and make it to La Paz. With 110% humidity in the 94 degree heat riders will have to focus on staying hydrated and cool for the second half of Day 7… SEE the Video Recaps at the bottom of this page
