Choppy surf as storm moves through
Today is one of the reasons we live here in Southern California, where you can surf and hit the snow all in the same day and if you are a full throttle type of person, you could also take out the dirt bike too! I made the choice to hit Newport with World Ranked #20 Travis Logie from South Africa who now calls California home. Logie has been hitting the Orange County lineups for a month now, getting his workout in before leaving for Snapper Rock, the first stop on the Dream Tour.
Newport Beach held the wind much better than Huntington Beach but still not a real good wave today. John John Florence is also in town getting some work done at Hurley head quarters but with Snapper starting on the 3rd of March, the boys will be leaving this weekend making the trip to Oz. Brett Simpson, already in Australia, is surfing later today in the Burton Toyota Pro. You can watch it on surfest.prosurfinglive.com.
Looking forward to Friday as the conditions can only get better than today.
