Hip hop and art come together at Soulstyce Festival
Fest also included BMX Pro competition
All the elements that make the hip hop culture came together last weekend during the annual Soulstyce Festival, in Pico Rivera, on September 17 and 18.
Live graffiti art, tattoos, b-boying, DJs, and of course hip hop artists gave guests much to take in during this two-day festival.
As performers entertained in the sports arena, a make-shift dirt bike trail was built inside the stage area, which usually hosts horse shows.
Cyclists showed off their best tricks in hopes to win the $10,000 cash prize presented by Linq Bicycles, with pro, amateur and girl divisions, during the BMX pro dirt competition.
Vendors were also on site offering a variety of services and artwork such as tattoos, t-shirts, and paintings.
The event benefited VH1 Save The Music Foundation, ARF (Athlete Recovery Fund), and the J Dilla Foundation.
