We reported yesterday about country star Randy Travis’ strange run-in with the law in Texas. He was found drunk and buck naked on the side of a country road after crashing his Pontiac Trans Am on Tuesday night.
Turns out the 911 call that drew officers to Travis’ delicate predicament came from a convenience store clerk, who told police that a naked man came into his store and tried to buy cigarettes. Mr. Birthday Suit became angry when the clerk asked him how he would pay for the pack.
Which one of Travis’ hits would have provided the perfect soundtrack for that moment? “This Is Me”? “Hard Rock Bottom of My Heart”? (“Honky Tonk Moon” would be too obvious.)
Travis was arrested and booked. He is free after posting bail of $21,500. The singer was almost fully dressed when he left, minus only a pair of shoes.
