Vans discount store
But I'm a single mom on a very tight budget, so cringed at the price of Vans at my local Tillys (actually the price of pretty much everything there, too). Especially because my son demolishes approximately one pair of shoes per month without even trying.
Well, can I just brag to you right now that we bought four, count 'em, four pairs of Vans shoes Saturday for only $60 plus tax? Seriously, I'm not making this up. I know, it's the price of one regular pair of Vans.
How is that possible? Well, thanks to reader Cathy Dutton of Anaheim Hills, who told me about the Vans Outlet store when I complained about the cost of my son's chosen footwear.
We have now been twice to the Vans outlet store, which is located at 485 N. Tustin St. in Orange. We don't live nearby, but it's worth the pilgrimage for the savings.
They offer a wide variety of Vans merchandise. When we were there Saturday, they had skinny jeans, two pairs for $19.95, a and plenty of other deals, too. There was a cute knit cap with the Vans logo on it and a pom-pom on top that I was tempted to buy for $4.99 and stash away for Christmas.
We are usually there for the numerous styles of shoes they offer for $19.95. They also have higher priced shoes on discount, but I tell my kids they have to pick one from the $19.95 rack, or pay the difference themselves.
Typically, this store offers many items at "Buy one, get one half off" deals, and the prices are already discounted.
Usually, the cheaper shoes are not included, but at least this weekend, they were offering their discount $19.95 shoes also with this buy one, get one half off" deal.
I let each of my kids pick out two pairs of shoes for $19.95 each. That meant that we paid $19.95 each for two pairs, and got two pairs for $9.98 each on sale.
Plus, to make the deal even sweeter, they gave us a coupon for $20 off $50, if we return later in September and buy more.
The store was packed with savvy shoppers who were already scooping up back-to-school bargains, but they still had plenty of stuff, so if your kid is a Vans addict, or maybe you are, then head over there and take a look.
Now, I am guessing there might be other Vans outlet stores out there, but I don't know where they are. So, if you know, maybe you can clue us in. And, if you like to shop at this store, tell us what you like to buy!
