Is rising star Jennifer Lawrence wilting under all the “Hunger Games” hype?
Lawrence, who plays a fierce teen warrior in the big-screen sci-fi epic, “has been displaying a deep ambivalence toward her new status as a global movie icon,” according to The Daily Beast.
Earlier this month Lawrence told the Los Angeles Times that paparazzi hiding in her bushes have unnerved her. Appearing Monday on “Late Show with David Letterman,” the 21-year-old actress complained that super-passionate “Hunger Games” fan boys give her the creeps.
The whole red carpet/chat show thing makes her crazy too. “It’s so scary. I end up getting so nervous that … I get really hyper. So then I go to interviews, and I’m like, ‘I’m a Chihuahua! Shaking and peeing.’ And then afterward, I’m like, ‘I just talked about peeing on the red carpet.’ It’s just not a normal situation.”
And she’s not a normal movie star.
