Hawaiian surfer Keanu Asing took home win - and a $3,500 check  - during the Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure contest held on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier today.

The contest, which was held on Sunday and Monday, produced small, inconsistent waves for surfers.

Newport Beach's Chase Wilson made it to the finals, but didn't earn enough points for the win. He took home a $1,300 check for his fourth place spot.

The event was an important one for junior surfers - the Grade 4 event is the highest rated Men's Pro Junior in North America this year.

"I was psyched," Asing said as he accepted his check.

When the announcer asked how much he was going to spend on celebrating tonight, he replied: "Probably all of it."

Surfers with enough points quality for the ASP World Junior Championships held in Narrabeen, Australia each following year. All surfers on the ASP North American Pro Junior Series are looking to compile their best four results throughout the year in an attempt to finish within the top thee on the ratings to earn their spot in the coveted event.
