AfterWork: Yard House in Brea

Piped-in classic rock? Check.
Zillions of beer taps? Check.
OK, we've established that we've just walked into a Yard House, but which Yard House? Is it the one in Irvine or Costa Mesa or Fashion Island? Nope, this is Brea.
Although the Brea Yard House serves the same food and beer as its three dozen counterparts in a dozen states, it seems to have its own identity. Each Yard House reflects its own neighborhood, and Brea is no exception.
Not only is the shape different from its sister restaurants in Irvine, Costa Mesa and Fashion Island, but its staff and customers mirror the laid-back neighborhood in which it is located.
I don't know if it was my imagination but the Brea location seems to attract more families and couples than other locations.
Regardless of which Yard House you enter, you can be assured of finding the Yard House experience. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants, but this is one chain that works, whether it's in Brea or in New York (which opens later this week).
