Dana Point Symphony debut delivers classics
Conductor Dean Anderson led the Dana Point Symphony in its inaugural concert Friday night with a performance of music by Mozart and Brahms at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.
The orchestra was joined onstage by guest soloists Mira Khomik on violin and Bronwyn Banerdt on cello. As with all four performances in the symphony's debut season, Friday's was followed by a reception featuring the work of a local visual artist. This time it was Paul Bond of San Clemente.

March 9: Mendelssohn, Wieniawski and Sarasate (soloists: Lindsay Deutsch on violin and Naval Academy Women's Glee Club; artist: John Hall)
April 13: Strauss, Glass and Colomer (soloist: TBA; artist: Rita Pacheco)
May 4: Glinka, Prokofiev and Dvorak (soloist: Berenika Schmitz on piano; artist: Paul Gardner)
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for senior citizens, students and military personnel. Tickets may be purchased online here or at the door.
