'Seinfeld' actor attempts suicide
A former “Seinfeld” star shot himself in the head in an attempted suicide on Monday but ended up calling 911.
Daniel von Bargen, who played Mr. Kruger, tried to kill himself after he learned that doctors were going to have to amputate some of his toes, TMZ reports. Von Bargen is a diabetic.
TMZ obtained a tape of the actor’s 911 call.
“I've shot myself in the head ... and I need help,” he tells the operator.
The operator asks him if he shot himself by accident.
“I was supposed to go to the hospital and I didn't want to,” Von Bargen says. “They were supposed to amputate at least a few toes.”
The actor shot himself in the temple. When police arrived at his Cincinnati apartment, they asked him to keep his hands where they could see them.
Von Bargen was transported to a hospital where he is reportedly in critical condition.
