Pouring Some Sugar on Garden Grove
The city of Garden Grove has recently been notoriously recognized for its controversial Vietnamese café shops of pasties-wearing sexy waitresses. Nestled between Little Saigon, Little Seoul, and tract homes from the mid-70’s stands the last of the Sugars franchise that still carries sex appeal – minus the controversy.
In an effort to “keep up with the Joneses,” SUGARS has been remodeling and upgrading every nook and cranny for the past year. The one thing they’ve stuck with for over 30 years is the Marilyn Monroe vintage theme – where the original franchise owner came up with the name “Sugars” from the 1959 movie “Some Like It Hot” starring Marilyn Monroe as Sugar Kane Kowalczyk.
With up-to-date flat-screen TV’s, pool tables and the usual dart and pinball machines, Sugars provides the ultimate man cave for both new and regular customers to escape from their lives and their wives. Oh yeah, and there’s booze and boobs.
