John & Ken suspended for Houston remarks
KFI/640 AM announced Thursday it is suspending immediately talk hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou "for making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston."
The specifics of their comments were not disclosed, but a in a recording of the show posted online, Houston was referred to as a "crack ho."
KFI's announcement said, "Management does not condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind."
In the suspension announcement, Kobylt said, "We made a mistake, and we accept the station's decision. We used language that was inappropriate, and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston."
John and Ken will return to the air on Monday, Feb. 27, the station announced. Their program airs 3-7 p.m. weekdays. There was no immediate word on who would fill in for them.
