Keira Knightley is engaged.
The lithesome star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” is promised to musician James Righton, a keyboard player for the British rock group Klaxons.
Knightley’s publicist, Sara Keene, released the news Friday, but wouldn’t say anything about the proposal or wedding plans, pretty much putting the kibosh on any fun stuff.
Knightley, 27, and Righton have been dating since early last year.
The actress first won notice as a soccer-playing teenager in “Bend it like Beckham” and went on to star in three of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. She was nominated for an Oscar in 2006 for her role in “Pride and Prejudice.”
