Review: Transformers is overly busy and far too long

Our high school intern reviews "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Earning over $100 million in its opening weekend, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, directed by Michael Bay, is overly busy, quite bombastic and far too long for an action flick with an indecisive plot line.

Starring heartthrobs Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, the movie fails to stick to the plot of saving the world from the Decepticons -- the evil robots who look as though they are the products of a trash compactor -- by focusing on the "love" between the unrealistic couple. Ending at exactly 2 hours and 29 minutes the film's unnecessarily long length takes much effort to get through.

The movie begins with the Decepticons destroying Hong Kong as the leader of the Decepticons is narrating from space. A random change in direction, Bay then decides to show LaBeouf's dramatic move to college as he leaves his life behind to move on. The film goes on to illustrate the many intense battles between the Auto-Bots and the Decepticons.

Unlike the first one, this movie attempts to compact too much into one movie and transforms the once cheers of the high fan base to looks of dissappointment.
