State says motorists change oil too often

1 of 13
Mechanic Stephen Weston changes the oil in a vehicle at Titan Automotive in Orange. A state campaign wants to let motorists know that, depending on the year and model of their car, they do not need to get their oil changed every 3,000 miles. Improvements in oils and automotive technology have lengthened the oil change interval to typically 7,500 to 10,000 for most vehicles.
