Outrageous celebrity antics of the week

Correction: That wasn't sleeping. That was spirituality. A fan snapped a photo of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie during a recent Bruce Springsteen concert in New York City. The governor's eyes were closed. The New York Post ran the photo and concluded that Christie had dozed off. Now, Christie is fighting back at the scandalous accusations. He told reporters Thursday that he had simply leaned back and shut his eyes to bask in the glow of the spiritual-sounding song “Rocky Ground” when the picture was taken. The good governor is described as a mega-fan of Springsteen; he has attended 127 of the rocker's concerts, though he and Springsteen seldom agree politically. Christie says he buys his tickets from E Street Band members Steven Van Zandt or Max Weinberg at face value, also when awake. (The Associated Press contributed to this report.)
